13,000 years ago, the shoreline of glacial Lake Iroquois ran through Ward 35. Just think, if it was still there, we'd be The Beaches! (but downtown Toronto would be under 30 metres of water!)
It's from that long ago time that the Cycling Tour of Historic Ward 35 begins. From there we'll learn about the First Nations whose land is now Ward 35; the first European settlers; the strong link to railway and subway transportation in the area, and so much more!
Among the sites we'll visit:
- The Bell Estate
- Pine Hills War Memorial
- Bethel Pioneer Cemetery
- Devenish Fieldstone House Historic Site
- The Danforth Post Office
Join us to celebrate and learn more about the great history of our area in a leisurely bicycle tour of Ward 35. And we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll also be able to enjoy some beautiful fall colours along the way.
Make sure to mark the date on your calendar.
