Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown LRT Public Meetings

The City of Toronto Toronto and Metrolinx have scheduled three public workshops to consider street and station designs and uses for the Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown LRT development, including "making best use of this roadway space to serve all users, including cyclists."

The Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown LRT (see map below) is a 19-km light rail transit line (LRT) that will run across the centre of Toronto along Eglinton Avenue, from Jane Street/Black Creek Drive to Kennedy Station. Ten kms. will be underground between Keele Street and Laird Drive. The LRT will continue east on a street-level right-of-way to Kennedy Station, where it will connect to a converted Scarborough RT line. Construction began in the summer of 2011, and has a projected completion date of 2020.

Impact on Ward 35: A significant portion of the Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown LRT will run along the northern boundary of Ward 35, on Eglinton, between Victoria Park Ave. and Kennedy Station.

This is your opportunity to have your say on the design of the single largest infrastructure project in Canada. One that will transform the centre of Toronto. One that will affect cyclists, public transit and all roadway users throughout Ward 35 and across Toronto.
