Ontario Cycling Strategy

On November 30, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation has released its Draft Cycling Strategy for review by the general public.

It's the first provincial cycling strategy aimed at creating new policy in over 20 years.

According to the Ontario government's Environmental Registry web site, the strategy outlines a policy framework that will:

  • Enhance cycling infrastructure in the province
  • Enhance cycling safety through education and legislation
  • Ensure relevancy through monitoring, researching and coordination

It's an important moment for cycling in the province and you can have your say by clicking on the link below.

The proposal is open for public review and input for 60 days, until January 29, 2013.
